Custom Packaging & Printing FAQ
Practical answers about specifications, artwork, samples and ordering custom labels, boxes, pouches and printed products.
Planning your packaging project
What can I request from MEIKEI?
Explore labels and stickers, folding cartons, rigid boxes, pouches, mailing packaging, cards, hang tags, folded leaflets and bound manuals. The product pages show formats to discuss for your specific application.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Share the product type, finished dimensions, estimated quantity, artwork status, material or finish preferences, delivery country and target timing. Include the packed product dimensions and weight when the structure must fit or protect it.
How are minimum quantities, price and lead time agreed?
These depend on the product, materials, structure, finishing and production requirements. MEIKEI reviews the brief and confirms the applicable quantity, quotation and schedule for your project.
Can I request a sample before production?
Discuss a suitable sample or prototype with the project team. Confirm the sample scope, cost and schedule before it is made, and compare the physical result with the agreed specification.
What should I prepare in my artwork file?
Use the confirmed dieline and dimensions. Include agreed bleed and safe areas, check image resolution and fonts, and separate any foil, white ink or other special finishing layers. The team reviews the file before the agreed production stage.
How do I choose materials or finishes?
Explain the product surface, weight, storage, handling and presentation requirements. Compare appropriate samples. Material names alone do not prove food-contact suitability, water resistance, recyclability or other performance claims.
What should I check when approving a sample?
Review fit, structure, text, graphics, color references, material, finishing and application performance. Record requested changes and agree the final specification in writing before production.
Can I coordinate different packaging components?
Include each component in one brief, with its dimensions, material and print requirements. Discuss how labels, boxes, inserts, cards or other parts should fit together and how color will be assessed across different materials.
How are delivery and repeat orders handled?
Confirm the destination, packing arrangement and shipping responsibilities in the quotation. For a repeat order, provide the previous specification and identify any artwork, quantity, material or timing changes.
